NBA Live Mobile Review Reviews & Tips
When EA reps announced they were going to be focusing on mobile for the NBA Live series, it wasn`t that surprising. However, I was full of quite a bit of trust that NBA Live Mobile will deliver a fresh and intriguing mobile sports gaming experience.
However, following a week with the game, I could confidently state that when the future of gambling (and sports gambling) is on mobile, we have got a very long way to go. Gameplay
NBA Live Mobile has the normal mobile sports-sim experience with buttons connected with actions on the right along with a digital analog stick on the left side of the display. For whatever reason, it has become the default way to control players but it does not mean it is simple or particularly enjoyable to play.
With no buttons to push, which is a consequence of layout, it will become a research in focus to make sure your fingers are in the right spot and ready to deliver the command.
Things such as passing and shooting desire a delay to ensure you are currently pushing the part of the display to deliver the command, and oftentimes this results in a pretty jerky sense to the gameplay`s flow. I am not certain whether this could ever be remedied, especially not in the design.
The other problem with this type of control is that it is remarkably simplistic. In NBA Live Mobile, you have two buttons on protection: a protector button and a block button. On offense you`ve got drive, shoot and pass.
Don`t get me wrong, anything more than that likely would bring about an impossible control scenario, and the Live Mobile team has done an adequate job at establishing some layers of depth.
While tapping it attempts a steal for example, holding down the shield button will result in you safeguarding your opponent. You hold down the push button and slide your finger up into the shoot button to dip or lay up the ball.
In all honesty, this is something which can be expanded while maintaining the front-end interface that is easy, to allow a level of control.
A drawback of the gameplay is that the AI in the game does not really go beyond the basics and is simplistic. Players do not move off of the ball and there is no method to predict for something as essential as an option and roll.
In short, the foundation at Live Mobile is solid enough for a mobile game, however this in no way replaces your games experience. Modes
NBA Live Mobile is a game built on the Ultimate Team concept, like the other EA Sports games.
Bearing that in mind, you have head to head, live leagues, seasons, events and clinic to participate in. All of this is achieved inside the Ultimate Team frame of making points to buy cards to then make your team better.
Obviously that is the extent of your experience with Live Mobile, and at this point, you either love the Ultimate Team notion or you hate it -- and it is doubtful your mind changes much out of that. Final Thoughts
We have to remember the price of entry into NBA Live Mobile is free, so you may jump in and give the sport a try without a lot of skin in the game.
The gameplay is simple and average for a sports gambling experience since the game only breaks zero ground. The Ultimate Team mode is something that you`ve already made up your mind on, and should youn`t like it, there is no use in giving the game a try as it won`t alter your thoughts.
Overall, if this is the future of sports gambling, I`m not particularly sure I`m a fan of it. The game is marginally above average. NBA Live Mobile does all strong enough, and the manners themselves seem to work without a lot of issue. The AI is kind of dumb, but you will find there is a game here to be appreciated if only for a while.
However, prospects and the expertise for the future leave me hoping for something different in the cell space soon enough.
